If by Accident it has lain long on the Road and is become Musty or Slimy. Take off the Wrapper then lay it in salt and water to soak brush and scrape it well then put it some salt and water in which let it remain for 24 hours; you may then clean it wrap it up and put it in Pickle.
To make a PICKLE for preserving BRAWN
Boil a quantity of salt and water mixt with a little Mair or small Wort let it stand till cool then put in your Brawn which in this Pickle may be sent abroad without any hazard of receiving damage.
