[inserted left margin: 16] Take a pounde of buter, a pinte of Creame, 8 Egs, the whites of 2, a quarter of a pinte of sack, as much of good ale yest, a quarter of a pound of orangeade Cut as Small as you think fit, half a quarter of a pound of Siteren Piell, beaten to a paist, & worke it in in the Cake, then put in as much floure as will make it in to a soft paist, set it before the fire to rise, & add a pound of caraway Comfits, make it up & set it in a quick oven, a litele more than one houre will bake it.
