To Make Walnut Catchup
Take the Walnuts [illegible] fit to pickle beat ym in a stone mortar [illegible] them thro a thin cloth let the Liquoar stand to settle then pour of the clear to every pint of Liquor ad a pd of Anchovies half a qhater of an Ounes of Mace as much Cloves & Jamaica pepper - Beat them togeather till the Anchovies are [text loss] then Strain it & put in half a pint of Vinegar with a good many Shalots & Garlick Boil thm again till they are tender let it stand till cold then Bottle it up for use it will keep years is very good in any sauce & very little will do
