The Shelby County Building, Memphis Fairgrounds (2nd Army Headquarters)

The 10th Mountain Division was deactivated on November 30th, 1945. Jerome Esptein, Jr., however, did not have enough "points" to be demobilized and remained on active duty. In the final days of November 1945 he was transferred to 2nd Army Headquarters, in Memphis, Tennessee, where he would serve out the remainder of his time in the Army as a clerk in the G3 section (Operations).
